Beginning with his work in the genesis of Akamai Technologies, Marco has spearheaded marketing and public relations efforts for an array of Fortune 500 corporations and venture capital backed tech companies. He is also frequently retained as a senior advisor to foreign governments, democratic movements and NGOs. Previously a managing director at global PR giant Burson-Marsteller, Marco sees his role as a “creative catalyst for breakthrough communications.” He holds a BA from UCLA and a Masters from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs, and has served as an adjunct professor teaching Innovations in Marketing at NYU and Entrepreneurship at Fordham.
A co-founder of Thunder 11, Liel holds a Ph.D. in Communications from Columbia University and teaches video games and digital media at New York University. A believer in academic-corporate partnerships and data-driven strategy, he runs Washington Square Research, Thunder 11’s sister company. He is also a senior writer for Tablet Magazine and the author or co-author of six books, including, most recently, A Broken Hallelujah: Rock n’ Roll, Redemption, and the Life of Leonard Cohen.
Executive Vice President
Brian is an experienced marketer and general manager having held a broad range of leadership positions at prominent sports, music, and consumer packaged goods companies. His work has focused on building world-class brands and developing integrated marketing/communications campaigns at companies including Madison Square Garden (where he oversaw marketing for the New York Knicks), XM Satellite Radio (VP, Content Marketing), and General Mills (where he led the iconic Wheaties brand). Brian believes that big ideas drive businesses and that breakthrough communications require integrating PR and Marketing as well as traditional, digital, and social media. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Harvard University and MBA from the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University.
Nkiruka is an Account Executive with over two years of healthcare public relations experience. She has worked with a variety of clients including pharmaceutical companies, health systems, insurance companies and nonprofits. She has developed press releases, infographics, social media content and speeches on behalf of her clients and offered strategies on how clients can elevate their respective industry profiles. At Thunder11, Nkiruka provides project management support, participates in media relations and thought leadership efforts and oversees online content development activities. Prior to joining Thunder11, Nkiruka held full-time positions at Burson-Marsteller and FleishmanHiilman.
She graduated cum laude from Villanova University with a Bachelor's degree in English.
Elizabeth’s background in event planning and medical marketing makes her an ideal addition to the Thunder11 team. Before her arrival at Thunder11, she worked closely with Johnson & Johnson’s pharmaceutical division, Janssen Biotech, and a wide array of elite medical professionals while producing successful events all over the country. Elizabeth not only brings her event planning expertise to Thunder11, but also an innovative, service-oriented outlook, and meticulous execution.
She is a founding member of The Caroline Fund, a non-profit dedicated to raising awareness and funding for brain and spine tumor research in honor of her late cousin. Elizabeth holds a bachelor’s degree from The College of New Jersey.
Christian recently joined the Thunder11 team after a newly discovered interest in marketing and public relations. His upbringing in Maui, Hawaii, coupled with his education at Columbia University in the City of New York, helps him to contribute a unique perspective to all areas of his work.
As Project Manager, Christian is responsible for overseeing the coordination and execution of projects for clients. This includes the contrivance and procurement of marketing strategy, social media, and content creation plans. In addition to this, he is responsible for the maintenance and management of internal operations at the Thunder11 office. In executing these tasks, Christian strives to maximize the prosperity of both the company and its clients by ensuring sustainable results for all parties involved.
Christian recently graduated from Columbia University with a Bachelor of Arts. His areas of study include East Asian Languages and Cultures, Physics, Psychology, Sociology, and Political Science.
